As members and friends of the Einstein Center for Neurosciences (ECN) Berlin, we invite you to join us at the Berlin Neuroscience Meeting on October 10, 2019.
To provide a platform for scientific interaction among Berlin neuroscientists and to give the new ECN-PhD students an overview of the diversity of the neuroscience landscape in Berlin the ECN organizes an annual Neuroscience Meeting. This meeting will offer an excellent venue for presenting and discussing recent work.
This year there will be a special feature - in pursuit of our mission to foster inter- and transdisciplinary, collaborative research, we will present the first ECN Open Innovation Award.

4:00 p.m. – Opening and ECN introduction (Auditorium)
Learn who we are and what we do at the Einstein Center for Neurosciences and get to know our new ECN PhD fellows.
4:30 p.m. – 1st ECN Open Innovation in Science (OIS) Award Ceremony (Auditorium)
Introduction to the OIS Award Hear from Marion Poetz (Scientific Director of the LBG Open Innovation in Science Center) what OIS is, how the OIS Award contributes to facilitating inter- and transdisciplinary, collaborative research and innovation at ECN and how it is embedded in our PhD program.
OIS Project Idea Pitches Listen to OIS Award Finalists pitching their Open Innovation in Science project ideas to an interdisciplinary jury of experts in Neuroscience and Open Innovation and learn about how patients can be involved in co-creating Neuroscience studies or how crowds help generating and analyzing Neuroscience data.
OIS Talks Learn about why we believe it is important to foster open and collaborative practices in science and integrate respective capability building into the Einstein Training Program and hear what our PhD students say about participating in the Einstein Center’s Lab for Open Innovation in Science.
OIS Award Ceremony Find out about the winning projects of the 1st ECN OIS Award and congratulate the winning teams (1st prize and runner-up) on obtaining 5.000 EUR each for further developing their OIS project ideas.
6:15 p.m. – Poster session & Get-Together (Atrium) Mingle and celebrate with us while enjoying food and drinks, and inform yourselves about current research projects of ECN scientists and PhD students in our parallel poster session.
6:30 p.m. – Lab introduction to new ECN PhD fellows (Fenster der Wissenschaft)
ECN-PIs Christian Rosenmund, Daniel Senkowski, Christoph Stein, Henrik Walter confirmed to introduce their workgroups to our new PhD fellows.
